Dexter
Dexter is a 2 year old, M german shepherd mix.
Weight: 74 lbs
Trained: yes. perfect recall and basic commands.
Dogs: fine. an old but healed knee injury (causing minor limp) makes him worried when dog wants to play rough.
Cats: yes! a healthy curiosity…
Kids: yes, 8 and older best
Our Dex is the sweetest companion animal. He picks up a toy to greet you with in the morning, and how can anything go wrong if you start your day like that…He plays fetch, jogs, walks well on leash, and recalls very well off leash.
A fairly low stimulus home would be best for this boy, and he’d like there to be a lady in that home ..he loves the ladies!
He has some remaining fear issues that show up when his person is not around and his feels like he needs to protect his person’s space. This can be worked with easily as long as all strangers bring really good treats…..Burglars don’t usually carry those so you will have a great guard dog in Dexter too!
Not a big barker, and a very nice companion to have ‘around the house’ and to go for nice nature walks with.
A cute wrinkly frown appears on his forehead when he is trying to figure out what you are expecting of him….and he is so smart you will have no trouble communicating with him!. He will bond strongly to his human(s) and be your loyal shepherd-hound forever!
