Jackie – Adopted! Thank you!
Jackie is a beautiful young Catahoula mix who is looking for her forever home. She is very smart girl and loves to learn new things…she would do best with an active owner who has the time to
take her hiking and to classes such as agility or tracking. She gets along with calm and even tempered dogs. Just out of the shelter environment, she still acts defensively when she feels
“crowded” by other dogs. At her foster home, she is making leaps and bounds with continued dog-socialization. She absolutely adores attention from people and would do great in an home with adults or teenagers as she may be overwhelmed by small children.
Catahoulas are a very active breed and require daily exercise and mental stimulation…neighborhood leash walks are not enough to keep them happy. It would be wise to research this breed before considering adopting one. They are very loyal and loving dogs,
however if not given enough exercise, attention, and obedience training, they can become bored which can lead to various issues. A good containment is also necessary in your yard as they do like to escape to look for entertainment.
